Another type of biofuel is I know I've mentioned the term ethanol, a liquid alcohol made of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. I’m not much of a biochemistry guy so you probably don’t want me to try and explain the specifics, but I do know you can’t drink it.
Ethanol comes from fermenting grains and other agricultural feedstock.
In Western Canada, ethanol is made from corn and wheat, but in Atlantic Canada it is made from forest residues and it’s referred to as cellulosic ethanol because of the different kind of feedstock. Regardless of whether it’s produced from starch or cellulosic-based feedstocks, ethanol has the same chemical properties.
