So, what does all of this mean for you? According to a study commissioned by Marine Renewables Canada, there’s going to be A LOT of job growth for offshore wind in the next five years. Atlantic Canada will need many different types of workers to help with the clean energy transition, so if this sounds like the type of work you’d like to be involved with, there could be lots of opportunities!

All those jobs will be involved in the offshore wind sector. We’ll need project managers, designers, construction workers, operations managers, technicians, researchers, accountants, HR workers, and so much more to make all this possible!

You might also try networking with professionals in your field of interest. It’s a great way to learn more about the field and what job opportunities are coming. Be sure to check out Marine Renewables Canada, The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA), and Net Zero Atlantic. These organizations have plenty of industry members involved in offshore wind such as EverWind Fuels and Nova East Wind. These organizations have networking events with student discounts, so check out their events and member directories to accelerate your career!
